Please follow these requirements carefully to ensure your work receives full consideration. Submissions that don't meet these guidelines may be disqualified. We've designed these standards to honor the craft and create a cohesive, professional anthology worthy of the time you've invested.

Dual Submission Format
Submit both handwritten and typed versions when possible. Handwritten accompaniments receive priority consideration as they honor our community's creative origins.

Proper Formatting
Typed version must use Times New Roman, 12pt, single-spaced. Include header information but no author name.

Correct File Naming
Use the structure: Prompt#_Category_Date_TitleofPiece for both files to keep submissions organized.

Follow Length Guidelines
Respect word limits for your category. Pieces exceeding limits will not be considered.

Handwritten Version
Optional but receives priority consideration
Submit a clear photo or scanned PDF of your original notebook page. This captures the authentic, in-the-moment energy of your Saturday Scribe sessions — the crossed-out words, the coffee stains, the raw creative process we celebrate.
Your handwritten pages tell the story behind the story, revealing the organic development of ideas that can only happen in those weekly gatherings.

Required for all submissions
Format with precision:
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Size: 12 pt
  • Spacing: Single-spaced
Include header information (prompt number, location, date) in the upper-left corner. Do not include your name anywhere on the document to ensure blind review.

We've carefully designed these limits to showcase diverse voices while maintaining anthology cohesion. Pieces exceeding these limits will not be considered, so please review your word count before submitting. Quality and precision matter more than filling every available word.
