This fall, we are refining our words and shaping them into their final form for the first-ever Saturday Scribe Anthology — a celebration of dedication, craft, and the stories that bind us together.
Every Saturday for nearly a year, writers across cities gathered to reflect, write, and share stories that capture the creative spirit of our time. From bustling coffee shops to quiet library corners, we've built a community rooted in consistency and creative courage. Now, we're bringing those words to print.
Your Voice Belongs Here
This anthology honors both the handwritten beginnings of our work and the polished craft of our final submissions. We're preserving the raw authenticity of first drafts alongside the refined beauty of revision — a tribute to the entire creative journey.
Whether you've been writing with us since Week 1 or discovered us along the way, your voice has earned a place in this collection. Every prompt explored, every coffee shop session attended, every word committed to the page — it all matters. This is your moment to see your work bound in something permanent.

Dual Submission Details
Handwritten Version
Optional but receives priority consideration
Submit a clear photo or scanned PDF of your original notebook page. This captures the authentic, in-the-moment energy of your Saturday Scribe sessions — the crossed-out words, the coffee stains, the raw creative process we celebrate.
Your handwritten pages tell the story behind the story, revealing the organic development of ideas that can only happen in those weekly gatherings.
Typed Version
Required for all submissions
Format with precision:
Font: Times New Roman
Size: 12 pt
Spacing: Single-spaced
Include header information (prompt number, location, date) in the upper-left corner. Do not include your name anywhere on the document to ensure blind review.
File Naming & Header Requirements
File Naming Structure
Use this exact format for both handwritten and typed files:
Include in the upper-left corner of typed version only:
Prompt number
Coffee shop or location where written
Date of the piece
Remember: No author names on documents
Why this matters: Consistent file naming helps our editorial team organize hundreds of submissions efficiently, ensuring your work gets the attention it deserves. The location and date information preserves the Saturday Scribe story behind each piece.
Length Guidelines by Category
We've carefully designed these limits to showcase diverse voices while maintaining anthology cohesion. Pieces exceeding these limits will not be considered, so please review your word count before submitting. Quality and precision matter more than filling every available word.
Submission Limits & Timeline
How Many Pieces Can You Submit?
You may submit up to two pieces per week, and each piece must come from that week's designated five prompts. This structure honors the weekly rhythm that defines Saturday Scribe while giving you creative flexibility to explore multiple prompts.

About Saturday Scribe
Saturday Scribe is a creative writing community built on the belief that consistency fuels the highest form of creativity. Every Saturday, writers gather in coffee shops, living rooms, and libraries across cities to pause, write, and reflect together.
We're not chasing perfection — we're chasing presence. Week after week, prompt after prompt, word after word.
"This anthology is the next chapter of that story — proof of what can happen when people commit to showing up, week after week, word after word."
Your Saturday mornings have become something bigger. Your handwritten pages are becoming history. Your dedication is becoming a book that will sit on shelves, be passed between friends, and inspire the next generation of writers to believe in the power of ritual.
